Background music

Sample album »

Add background music to your albums! You can choose from 2 methods: 1 adding music as normal album object (e.g. drag and dropping onto jAlbum) or 2 adding through Turtle's settings panel. You can have different music per folder in the former, or the same music throughout the whole album in the latter case.

Turtle skin's Background audio settings

In separate slides mode no continuous background music is possible (due to how web pages work), hence it is allowed only on the index pages in that mode.

You can add more than one music file in both cases. Turtle's player will play through them one-by-one, and restarts with the first at the end, provided the loop setting is on.

In order the audio files optimized for the web, consider resampling the files to 128 kbit/s, joint-stereo.

If you choose Using album album files as backgorund music, all the audio files will be used as background music, and skipped from the album. This mode allows you to have different music in each folder. If no audio file placed in a folder, there will be no background music.

The album remembers the play position (and volume settings), so when you return to the same folder (within an hour) they music will start where you left off the last time, provided the Retain play position is on.

Turtle skin is using the free and open source (MIT) jPlayer video player component from jPlayer.org to play the background music.

Even though accented and punctuation characters are fine on PC's they often don't work on the web. Remove any such charcters from the file names before you add them.

Local playback might be blocked by the browser's security rules. Test background music in the uploaded album.
