  • Red Dragon, male At first, I was a bit confused by the 3 different colors of the Neurothemis terminata dragonflies here in Yap. Eventually I figured it out: The red ones are males. The yellow ones with transparent wings are the "normal" female variants and the ones with "golden" orange wings are a more rare "dark winged" female variation. Here in Yap, the "golden" female variety seem to be at least as common as the transparent one though. : Dragonfly, Yap, Micronesia, 2008, Neurothemis terminata
