Adding Translations

Download:
texts.properties [9kB]

Making localizations is fairly easy in JAlbum. Find "Program Files/JAlbum/Chameleon/texts/texts.properties" (or download from here) and open with Notepad. Make sure you are using the latest skin version (check here).

Save the file as "texts_xx.properties", where xx is the ISO 2 letter LANGUAGE code according to w3 org standard. The Swedish translation would be texts_sv.properties for example. When saving choose UTF-8 encoding (preferred as it supports ALL characters) on the save dialog box.

Translate the key values (text after = sign) to your language. The keys (texts before '=') must not be altered. Pay attention to lines endings '\' (marks multi-line text) and line breaks '<br>'. Also check the text lengths to fit well with the user interface. To test the results first select your language from the "Preferences/Language" list. To take effect on the skin's User interface you have to reselect the skin too. For texts going on the generated page please make a sample gallery and test the result on it. Make sure you have selected your language on Chameleon's General tab.

If you have missed a certain translation, the English text will show instead. When everything works ok, please mail the translation to m_laca @ yahoo.com.

Thank you for your help.
